Alright, alright, let’s talk about these Halloween tarot cards, shall we? Don’t know much about fancy stuff, but I know what I see and what I feel, ya know?
So, these cards, they ain’t your regular playing cards, no sir. They got pictures on ‘em, all spooky and Halloween-y. You got your pumpkins, your ghosts, your skeletons, the whole shebang. Some folks say they can tell ya things, like what’s gonna happen or what you should do. Me? I just think they’re kinda fun to look at, especially around Halloween time.
Now, I heard tell there’s this card, the Wheel of Fortune. Sounds fancy, right? Well, it’s supposed to be about luck and destiny and all that. Like, if you get it, maybe good things are comin’ your way. Or maybe not, depends on which way it’s turned, I guess. They say if it’s flipped, it means you got too much of a good thing. Can you believe it? Too much good stuff? Never happened to me, that’s for sure!
- One time, my niece, she got a reading with these cards. Said she pulled the Ten of Swords. Scared her half to death, that one did. They say it’s the worst card in the whole deck, somethin’ about bad endings and such. But I told her, “Don’t you fret none, honey. Cards are just cards, they can’t hurt ya. It’s what you do that matters, not some picture on a piece of paper.” And you know what? She ended up just fine. Got herself a good man and a nice little house, she did.
- And then there’s those cards with the black cat on ‘em. Now, I love cats, black ones, white ones, don’t matter to me. But some folks, they get all superstitious about black cats, think they’re bad luck. But these cards, they ain’t about bad luck, not necessarily. They’re just about…well, about stuff, you know? About life, about choices, about things that happen.
I saw some cards with a mummy on it once. Reminded me of that old movie we saw down at the town hall, the one with all the screaming and carryin’ on. Scared the bejesus out of me, that did. But the cards, they weren’t so scary. Just a picture of that old mummy, wrapped up in bandages. Made me think about getting old, I guess. We all get wrapped up in somethin’ eventually, right? Time, worries, aches and pains…life, it just wraps you up.
People use these cards around Halloween time, I reckon it’s because Halloween is all about…well, about spooky stuff, right? And these cards, they got plenty of that. Ghosts, goblins, witches, you name it, they got it. It’s like they’re tryin’ to tell you somethin’, these cards. Tryin’ to make you think about things you don’t normally think about. Like, what happens after we die? Is there somethin’ else out there? I don’t know the answers, and I reckon these cards don’t either, not really. But they make you wonder, don’t they?
And listen here, some folks get all serious about these tarot cards, tryin’ to figure out their whole lives from ‘em. But I say, don’t take it too serious. Life’s too short to be frettin’ over what some cards say. Have a little fun, enjoy the pictures, maybe think about things a little differently. But don’t let them cards boss you around, you hear? You’re the boss of your own life, not some deck of cards.
So, if you see some Halloween tarot cards around, take a look. Maybe you’ll see somethin’ you like, maybe you won’t. Maybe you’ll think they’re silly, maybe you’ll think they’re deep. Doesn’t matter much, I reckon. Just have a good time, that’s what I say. And if you happen to pull that Ten of Swords, don’t you worry none. Just remember what I said: it’s what you do that matters, not some picture on a piece of paper. And for goodness sake, don’t go spendin’ all your hard-earned money on these things.
