Today, I really got into something called the Wild Lands Tarot. It’s a deck of cards, like the ones fortune tellers use, but these are super pretty and have cool animal drawings on them. I’d seen them online before and finally decided to get my hands on a set.
So, the first thing I did was open up the package. Inside, there was a guidebook and the deck of cards. The cards were all tucked into a sturdy box, and I gotta say, the art on the box alone was awesome. I started by just looking at each card one by one. Each one has a different animal on it, like a bear, a wolf, or an owl, and they all look really majestic and powerful.

After I got a good look at all the pictures, I started reading the guidebook. It explains what each card means and gives you different ways to use them. Apparently, you can lay them out in different patterns, called “spreads,” to get answers to questions or insights about your life. I thought, “Why not?” and decided to try a simple three-card spread. It’s supposed to tell you about your past, present, and future.
I shuffled the cards like it said in the book, really trying to focus my mind on my life and what I wanted to know. Then I picked three cards and laid them out. I got the Bear for the past, which the book says is about strength and introspection. For the present, I got the Snake, which is about transformation and healing. And for the future, I got the Deer, which symbolizes gentleness and following your intuition.
I sat there for a while, looking at the cards and thinking about what they could mean. Honestly, it kinda made sense with what’s been going on in my life. I’ve definitely had to be strong lately (Bear), and I feel like I’m going through some changes (Snake). As for the future, I guess I do need to trust my gut more (Deer).
It was a really interesting experience. I’m not sure if I totally believe in the whole fortune-telling thing, but it was definitely a cool way to reflect on things. Plus, the cards are just so beautiful to look at.
What I did:
- Opened the package and checked out the cards and guidebook.
- Looked at each card individually to admire the artwork.
- Read the guidebook to understand the meanings and how to use the cards.
- Tried a simple three-card spread for past, present, and future.
- Reflected on the meanings of the cards I drew and how they relate to my life.
I think I’m gonna try some other spreads later and see what happens. It’s kinda fun, and who knows, maybe there’s something to this tarot thing after all. Either way, it was a chill way to spend the afternoon and get a little introspective. Plus, now I’ve got a super cool deck of cards to show off!
