Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this “astrological delineation crossword” thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a trip. I thought, “Hey, this sounds fun, I like astrology, I like crosswords, why not?” So I dove right in.
First, I needed to figure out what the heck it even was. Basically, it’s a crossword puzzle, but instead of regular clues, you get, like, astrological descriptions. You know, stuff about planets, signs, houses, all that jazz. I googled around a bit for some examples, but there wasn’t a ton out there, so I just created a simple one to get a feel for it.

I started by picking a theme. I went with “Sun Signs” because, well, it’s the easiest place to start. Then, I came up with a list of clues. For example:
- “Fiery and passionate leader” (that’s Aries, of course!)
- “Practical and reliable earth sign” (gotta be Taurus)
- “Curious and adaptable air sign” (hello, Gemini)
And so on. I did this for all twelve signs.
Next, I had to actually make the crossword grid. I’m not gonna lie, this part was a little tricky. I used a piece of scrap paper, but I’m sure there is probably a way to do that online and make it perfect. I just wanted to start this out as simple as possible. I just sketched it out, making sure I had enough spaces for all the answers and that they all interconnected somehow.
Once the grid was done, I plugged in the answers, then numbered the across and down clues. It was actually kind of satisfying to see it all come together. It wasn’t pretty, but it worked!
Trying it out
To test it out, I erased all the answers and gave the puzzle to my friend Sarah, who’s also into astrology. She got most of them pretty quickly, but a couple of them stumped her. That made me realize I needed to tweak some of the clues to make them a little clearer, not perfect, but better.
After a few rounds of revisions, it was actually pretty decent! It was fun, challenging, and a cool way to think about astrology in a different way. I’m definitely going to try making more of these, maybe with more complex themes like aspects or transits. Maybe I’ll even get one of those fancy crossword-making software programs one of these days. Who knows?

So, yeah, that’s my little adventure with astrological delineation crosswords. It was a fun experiment, and I think it’s a great little exercise for anyone who’s interested in both astrology and puzzles.
