Listen up, y’all, let’s talk about this “astrology circle gong hee fot choy” thing. I don’t know much about fancy words, but I can tell you what I know, ya hear?
What is this “Gong Hee Fot Choy”?

Well, some folks say it means “Greetings of Riches.” Sounds good to me! Like wishing you a whole lotta money and good stuff. I ain’t never been rich, but I sure wouldn’t mind some extra cash to buy some good feed for the chickens and maybe a new pair of shoes that don’t let the water in.
They also say it’s got somethin’ to do with life bein’ more likely to be good than bad. Like, three times outta four, things gonna go your way. I don’t know about that, life’s been pretty tough on me and my old man, but I guess it’s nice to think things might get better. They say it’s an ancient belief, somethin’ people believed way back when. Well, maybe them old timers knew somethin’ we don’t.
Astrology and all that jazz
Now, they mix this “Gong Hee Fot Choy” with somethin’ called “astrology.” That’s all about stars and planets and how they mess with our lives. I ain’t never paid much attention to that stuff. I look up at the sky and I see stars, pretty little things, but I don’t see them tellin’ me what to do. But some folks swear by it, say the stars can tell you when to plant crops, when to get married, even when to buy a lottery ticket. Heck, maybe I should start lookin’ at them stars more often.
Making a “Gong Hee Fot Choy” thingamajig
I heard tell you can make a “Gong Hee Fot Choy spread.” I reckon that’s like settin’ up a bunch of things to help you get rich and lucky. Like, maybe you put out some coins, some lucky charms, maybe even a picture of a fat pig, cause pigs mean you got plenty to eat, right? I don’t know for sure, but it sounds like somethin’ fun to do. Maybe I’ll try it, put out some pictures of my chickens, they’re my lucky charm. And some of my canned tomatoes, those are worth gold these days.

- Coins: For money, of course.
- Lucky Charms: Whatever you think brings you good luck. Horseshoes, four-leaf clovers, you name it.
- Symbols of prosperity: Like that fat pig I was talkin’ about, or maybe some rice, cause rice means you got food in your belly.
Dreams and Numbers and such
Then there’s this “book of dreams” thing. Supposedly, your dreams mean somethin’, and you can use numbers to figure it all out. I have crazy dreams sometimes, mostly about chickens escaping the coop, I wonder what that means? I guess some people write down their dreams and then look up what the numbers mean. I don’t even remember my dreams half the time, let alone write them down. And this “planetary guide” thing, sounds like more star talk to me. They say the planets can guide you, tell you which way to go. I just follow the sun in the morning and the moon at night, that’s all the guidin’ I need.
It’s all about hopin’ for the best
So, what’s it all mean, this “astrology circle gong hee fot choy”? Well, near as I can tell, it’s about hopin’ for good things. Hopin’ for money, hopin’ for luck, hopin’ for a good life. And maybe, just maybe, if you do all this stuff, put out your lucky charms, look at the stars, write down your dreams, maybe, just maybe, things will go your way a little more often. Or maybe not. But it don’t hurt to hope, does it?
I don’t know fancy words, but I know what it’s like to want somethin’ better. We all do, I reckon. So, if this “Gong Hee Fot Choy” can help us get there, even just a little bit, then I say, why not give it a try? It can’t hurt to wish for some extra money and a little bit of good luck, maybe it’ll rain this summer and I can stop watering those tomatoes every day.
Anyway, that’s my take on it. Take it or leave it. I ain’t no expert, just an old woman who’s seen a thing or two. And I’m telling ya, hoping for the best is about all we can do sometimes.
Gong Hee Fot Choy, y’all! May you be rich, may you be lucky, and may your chickens lay plenty of eggs! That’s all that matters in this life, some good eggs and some peace and quiet.
