Yesterday, I saw this “telegraph daily horoscope” thing and got curious. So, I decided to give it a try and see what this whole horoscope fuss is about. I’m not really a believer in this stuff, but hey, why not have a little fun, right?
First, I had to find the website. I just typed “telegraph daily horoscope” into the search bar and clicked on the first result. Boom, there it was, a page full of zodiac signs. I’m a Leo, so I scrolled down until I found the lion symbol and clicked on it.

The page loaded, and there was a short paragraph supposedly predicting my day. It said something about “trusting my intuition” and “expecting affection from siblings.” I don’t have any siblings, so that part was a bit off. But the “trusting my intuition” part… well, I did have a gut feeling about something earlier that day, and it turned out to be right. Weird coincidence, maybe?
I read through the other signs, too, just for kicks. Some of them were pretty generic, like “opt for team effort” or “don’t take a decision if unsure.” I mean, that’s just common sense, isn’t it? But a few were strangely specific, like this one for Taurus that mentioned “affection from siblings.”
- I started digging a little deeper.
- I learned that there are 12 main zodiac signs: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, and Aquarius.
- But then I stumbled upon some articles talking about Ophiuchus and Cetus, two “new” signs.
- Apparently, some guy named Steven Schmidt proposed adding them back in 1970.
- What a mess!
I also found out that this whole horoscope thing is based on the position of stars when you’re born. Astrologers, as they call themselves, believe that these stars emit some kind of “cosmic energy” that shapes your personality and life. It all sounds a bit far-fetched to me, but I guess some people find comfort in it. Also, Pluto enters Aquarius today and will stay until 2043, which I find interesting.
I also found out the column was originally written by some guy named Jonathan Cainer, but after he passed away, his nephew, Oscar Cainer, took over.
I spent a good chunk of the day reading about this stuff. It’s kind of interesting, in a weird way. I’m still not convinced that the stars have any real influence on my life, but it’s fun to read about. It’s like a little escape from reality, you know? Maybe I’ll check my horoscope again tomorrow, just to see what other nonsense it comes up with.
