Alright, so today I wanted to mess around with this thing called “Egyptian bounds” in astrology. Sounds fancy, right? I’ve always been kind of into zodiac signs and horoscopes, just for fun, you know? So I figured, why not dive a little deeper? I was curious to learn about the origins of Egyptian bounds and its connection to astrology and then try to determine my bounds.
Getting Started
First, I did some digging online to figure out what Egyptian bounds are all about. It took me a while to understand, but basically, it’s an ancient system that divides each zodiac sign into five unequal parts. Each part is ruled by a different planet. This is way older than the usual stuff we see today, and it seemed pretty cool, to be honest.

After reading a bunch of articles and watching some videos, I finally got the gist of it. Each sign has its own set of bounds, and each bound has a specific planet that’s supposed to influence that part of the sign. For example, Aries starts with a bound ruled by Jupiter, then Mars, and so on. I found a few tables that showed all the bounds for each sign, which was super helpful.
My Sign
Now, I’m a Leo, born on August 5th. Using the tables I found, I started to map out where my birthday falls within the Leo bounds. It was a bit tricky at first, because the degrees for each bound weren’t always clearly defined. But I managed to find a table that was pretty detailed. It showed that Leo starts with a Jupiter bound, then Venus, and so on.
Calculating My Bounds
Here’s where it got a bit math-y. I had to pinpoint the exact degree of my Sun in Leo. There are 30 degrees in each sign. I knew my Sun was somewhere in the middle of Leo since I was born kind of in the middle of the Leo period. I used an online calculator to find the exact degree, and it turns out my Sun is at 12 degrees Leo.
Figuring Out the Ruling Planet
With my Sun at 12 degrees Leo, I looked at the table again. The Leo bounds go something like this: Jupiter for the first few degrees, then Venus, then Mercury, and so on. According to the table, 12 degrees Leo falls within the Venus bound. So, my ruling planet for this bound is Venus. That was a “eureka” moment for me!
I spent some time reading about how Venus influences this part of Leo. Apparently, it adds a touch of charm, diplomacy, and a love for beauty and harmony. It made sense to me, and it was fun to see how it might play out in my personality.
Putting It All Together
After figuring out my bound and its ruling planet, I felt like I had a new little piece of my astrological puzzle. It was interesting to see how this ancient system could add another layer to understanding my birth chart. I even started looking at the bounds for my Moon sign and Rising sign, just to see what other planetary influences were at play.

So, that’s my little adventure with Egyptian bounds. It was a fun learning experience, and it definitely made me appreciate the depth and complexity of astrology. It might be a bit old-school, but it’s a cool way to look at the stars and maybe learn a bit more about yourself in the process. If you’re into this kind of stuff, I’d say give it a try! You might be surprised at what you find. I realized that I didn’t know as much as I thought I did about astrology and how fun it is to learn about something new.
I even created a small table to record my bounds:
- Sign: Leo
- Sun Degree: 12
- Bound Ruler: Venus
- Influence: Charm, diplomacy, love for beauty and harmony
I think that I will use this table as a reference and will continue learning about my bounds to better understand how it influences my personality. Maybe I will even try to find out the bounds of my friends and family!
