Okay, so, today I wanted to try something different, something a little bit… out there. I’ve been reading up on this whole asteroid astrology thing, and one name kept popping up: Persephone. Apparently, this asteroid can tell you a lot about your inner self, your shadow side, and all that good stuff. I decided to give it a shot. I mean, why not? It sounded intriguing.
First things first, I needed to find out where Persephone was in my birth chart. I used one of those free online birth chart calculators. You just plug in your birth date, time, and place, and boom, you get a full chart. I spent a good ten minutes just trying to find the damn asteroid symbol. It looks like a little circle with a cross underneath. Honestly, it is very hard to find.

My Persephone is in Libra. Great. Another thing in Libra. When I finally did find it, I saw it was sitting right in the middle of my Libra placements. I thought, “This is going to be interesting.”
- I looked up what Persephone in Libra means. I found some random blog posts and a few astrology forums. The general gist is that it’s about balance, relationships, and maybe some hidden people-pleasing tendencies. I have to say that people-pleasing tendencies were not strange to me.
- I journaled about it. I grabbed my notebook and started writing down whatever came to mind. I thought about my relationships, past and present. How much of myself have I compromised for others? Was I being true to myself? It was a bit of a mess, but it felt good to get it all out.
- I did a little meditation. I know, it sounds woo-woo, but I lit a candle, put on some calming music, and just sat with my thoughts. I tried to visualize this “Persephone” energy and see what came up. I imagined what my shadow self looked like. Let me tell you, it was a strange time.
Here’s what I did next:
So, what did I discover? Well, it wasn’t some huge revelation, but it did make me think. I realized I do have a tendency to put others’ needs before my own. Sometimes to my detriment. It is not good for me. And maybe, just maybe, this whole Persephone thing has some merit.
I’m not saying I’m a convert to asteroid astrology, but it was a fun little experiment. It gave me a new perspective on myself and my patterns. I even felt a little bit more aware of my actions throughout the day. Like, “Am I doing this for me or for someone else?” It’s a good reminder to check in with yourself every now and then.
If you’re curious, I’d say give it a try. Find your Persephone placement and see what it means for you. It might just surprise you. Or, you know, it might be a total waste of time. Either way, it’s an experience, right? At the very least, it’s something to talk about at your next get-together. I may tell this experience to my friends, which may make them feel interested.
