Okay, so I wanted to make a Chinese zodiac calendar for 2019, the Year of the Pig. I’ve always been fascinated by the zodiac, and I figured, why not try to create my own?
First, I did some digging online. I needed to get the exact dates right. I mean, the Lunar New Year shifts around, so I couldn’t just guess. I found a few websites that listed the start date of the Year of the Pig in 2019 as February 5th.

Getting the Details Right
Then came the fun part – figuring out all the animal signs for each month. I remembered there’s this whole cycle, starting with the Rat and ending with the Pig, and it repeats every 12 years. 2019 was Pig, 2018 was Dog and so on.
So, I grabbed a notebook and started jotting stuff down.
- February 2019: Pig
- March 2019: Rat
- April 2019: Ox
- …and so on.
I carefully wrote all that, going month by month, making sure I followed the correct order.
I went with the plain one ,making sure to double-check the order of the animals.
It actually took a bit longer than I expected. Making sure I didn’t mess up the sequence required some serious concentration! But, finally, I had a complete handwritten 2019 Chinese zodiac calendar. It felt pretty good to create something from scratch, using just a bit of online research and a whole lot of careful note-taking.
