Okay, so I kept seeing the number 1998 everywhere. On license plates, receipts, clocks… it was freaking me out a little. I’m not usually one for “signs,” but this felt… persistent. So, I decided to do a little digging, treat it like a mini-project.
My “1998 Angel Number” Experiment
First, I grabbed my journal. I figured if I was going to take this seriously, I needed to track it. I made a note of every time I saw 1998, where I saw it, and what I was doing/thinking at the time.

- Day 1: Saw it three times. Once on a bus number, once on a price tag at the grocery store, and once on the microwave timer. Felt kinda… random.
- Day 2: Twice. On a billboard and then on a random page number in a book I was reading. Started to feel a little less random.
- Day 3: Four times! This is where it got weird. I saw it in a phone number, on a street sign, on the clock right as I was thinking about a career change, and then AGAIN on a license plate while I was driving home, feeling frustrated with my job.
After a few days of this, I started to look for patterns. It seemed like 1998 was popping up most often when I was thinking about work or feeling stressed about my future. That’s when I decided to actually look up what “angel number 1998” supposedly means.
I found a bunch of websites talking about it. Some of it was super cheesy, but the general idea was that 1998 is about embracing change, trusting your intuition, and moving towards your life purpose. Apparently, it’s also tied to manifesting abundance and achieving goals.
Now, I’m still a bit skeptical, but… it did make me think. I had been feeling stuck and unfulfilled at work. I had been ignoring that little voice telling me to explore something new.
So, I took a small step. I signed up for an online course in something I’ve always been interested in. It felt good. Really good. A week later, I saw 1998 again, but this time, it felt different. It felt… encouraging. Less like a weird coincidence, and more like a little nudge. I even wrote down my feeling about it this time.
I realized that maybe it does not matter if the number is magical, but what matters is how I act upon the number.
I’m not saying 1998 is some magic code to the universe, but this whole experience did push me to pay more attention to my intuition and take action. It was a good reminder that sometimes, the “signs” we see are just reflections of what we already know deep down. And sometimes, all we need is a little push to start moving in the right direction.

And, I still keep track of every time I see 1998 now. Just for fun.
