Well, let’s gab about this here… uh… Pisces constellation ring, yeah, that’s it. Don’t know much about fancy stuff, but I heard some things from the telly and them young’uns.
First off, some fella, Ptolemy they called him, way back when, he saw this fishy thing in the sky. But, mind you, other folks knew about it way before him, Greeks and such. They say it’s got somethin’ to do with their gods, Aphro-somethin’ and her boy, Eros. Like, they turned into fishes or somethin’. Imagine that! Them gods, always up to somethin’ strange.

Now, if you go lookin’ for it in the sky, it ain’t gonna jump out at ya like them big bright stars. It’s more like a… a… what do you call it… a faint V-shape. And it’s kinda spread out, big and all. Not too shiny, them stars. You gotta squint a bit, maybe.
- It’s got this one swirly thing, they call it M74. Looks like a pinwheel, I reckon.
- And it’s got, like, ten stars with other things goin’ ’round them. Planets, they call ’em. Don’t ask me how they know that. Smarty pants, them scientists.
- The shiniest one there is called Alpherg or somethin’. Sounds like a cough medicine to me.
Anyways, this here fishy star thing is one of them zodiac signs. You know, like them horoscopes in the newspapers. Folks born under it are supposed to be dreamers and sensitive and whatnot. My grandson, he’s one of them. Always got his head in the clouds, that boy.
This Pisces thing, it’s like two fishes tied together with a rope. Kinda funny if you think about it. Why tie two fishes together? Maybe they didn’t want ’em swimmin’ away. Or maybe it’s just one of them god things, you know, symbolic and such.
This Aphro-lady, she’s also called Venus, they say. And her boy Eros, he’s also Cupid. Them gods got so many names, it’s hard to keep track. Cupid’s the one with the arrows, makin’ folks fall in love. Guess that’s why they say Pisces people are romantic. Always moony and lovey-dovey.
So, if you’re gonna get yourself a Pisces constellation ring, I guess you’re hopin’ for some of that fishy luck, huh? Maybe some love, maybe some dreams. Or maybe you just like the way it looks. Ain’t nothin’ wrong with that neither.
I saw one of them rings once, at the market. It was kinda pretty, with little sparkly things for the stars. Looked like somethin’ a fairy queen would wear. Not really my style, too flashy. I like plain things, gold bands, nothin’ fancy. But young folks, they like them shiny things. Makes ’em feel special, I reckon.

And this here fishy star thing, it ain’t just somethin’ for lookin’ at, they tell me. It’s got a whole story behind it. Greek stories, Roman stories, all sorts of stories. Makes you wonder how them old folks came up with all that stuff, lookin’ at the sky and all. Must’ve had a lot of time on their hands, ain’t that right?
So, if you’re thinkin’ ‘bout this Pisces constellation ring, well, now you know a little somethin’ about it. It’s about fishes and gods and dreams and love and sparkly things in the sky. Whether you believe in all that stuff or not, it’s still a pretty story. And a pretty ring, if that’s your kind of thing. Me? I’ll stick to my plain gold band. Been wearin’ it for fifty years, and it ain’t failed me yet.
Now, I ain’t no expert, mind you. Just tellin’ ya what I heard and what I reckon. If you wanna know more, go ask them smarty pants at the library or somethin’. They got all the books and such. Me? I gotta go make some supper now. Them grandkids are comin’ over, and they’re always hungry.
But before I go, let me tell ya this. This whole sky thing, it’s bigger than all of us. Makes ya feel small and kinda wonderin’ what it all means. And maybe that’s why folks like to wear these Pisces constellation rings, or any rings with stars and such. Makes ’em feel connected to somethin’ bigger, somethin’… well, somethin’ out of this world.
And maybe that ain’t such a bad thing after all.
