Okay, folks, let’s talk about my journey with the large Monstera Thai Constellation. I’ve always loved plants, and this one was at the top of my wishlist for, like, ever.
Getting Started
First things first, I found a decent-sized one online. It wasn’t cheap, I’m not gonna lie, but I was ready to splurge a bit. I’d been saving up, and, well, treat yo’ self, right?

When it arrived, I was both thrilled and terrified. It was packed well, but you know how shipping plants can be. Thankfully, it was in pretty good shape! A few slightly bent leaves, but nothing major.
The Setup
I already had a spot picked out – bright, indirect light, near a window but not directly in the sun’s path. I grabbed a pot that was a couple of inches bigger than the nursery pot it came in, and some well-draining potting mix. You don’t want these guys sitting in soggy soil; they hate that.
- chunky potting mix, plenty of perlite and bark.
- make sure the pot have drainage holes!
The Repotting Process
Repotting was a little nerve-wracking. The roots were pretty tightly packed, so I gently loosened them up with my fingers. I placed a layer of the new potting mix in the bottom of the new pot, then carefully positioned the Monstera in the center. Then, I filled in around the sides with more mix, making sure not to bury the stem too deep.
I gave it a good watering, and then…I waited. Watching new leaves unfurl is the most exciting part. After I watered it and I moved it.
Ongoing Care
I’ve had it for a few months now, and it’s doing pretty well! It’s not growing super fast, but I have seen a couple of new leaves, which is always exciting. I water it when the top inch or two of soil feels dry – usually about once a week, depending on the weather.
I also mist it every few days because they like humidity. And I wipe down the leaves with a damp cloth every now and then to keep them dust-free and shiny. It’s a bit of a routine, but it’s totally worth it.

It’s not always easy. Sometimes, dealing with the anxieties of a plant lover is hard work, but at the end of the day, seeing it there makes me feel good!
