Okay, so the other day I was messing around with this idea of making something that could tell you about the zodiac signs. You know, like those things that say what animal or sign you are based on when you were born? Yeah, I wanted to make one of those. I’ve always been kind of into this stuff, even if it’s just for fun.
First off, I started by looking up a bunch of stuff about zodiac signs. I mean, there’s a ton out there! There’s the Western one with Aries, Taurus, and all those, and then there’s the Chinese one with the Rat, Ox, Tiger, and so on. And I even found out there’s a Korean one, which is pretty similar to the Chinese one. So, I gathered all this information and made some notes.

I decided I wanted to cover both the Western and Chinese zodiacs because, why not? More the merrier, right? So, I listed out all the signs for each. For the Western one, I even found this silly way to remember them: “Any time Granny covets Leo’s vegan lunch, she should cut a pizza.” It’s goofy, but it helps!
- Aries
- Taurus
- Gemini
- Cancer
- Leo
- Virgo
- Libra
- Scorpius
- Sagittarius
- Capricornus
- Aquarius
- Pisces
Then for the Chinese zodiac, I wrote down the animals in order. It goes like Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. I even dug into why they’re in that order, but that’s a whole other story with a bunch of legends and myths. The Korean one has the same animals and order, which I found interesting.
- Rat
- Ox
- Tiger
- Rabbit
- Dragon
- Snake
- Horse
- Goat
- Monkey
- Rooster
- Dog
- Pig
After getting all the signs down, I started thinking about what makes each one unique. Like, people say that those born in the year of the Rat are quick-witted and resourceful, while Ox people are diligent and strong. I didn’t get into too much detail on this yet, but it’s something I want to explore more later.
So, I compiled all of this into a simple document. Nothing fancy, just a list of the signs and some basic info. It was more about getting my thoughts organized and having a starting point. I’ve been thinking of maybe turning this into a little app or website where you can put in your birth date and it tells you your sign in both zodiacs. That would be kind of cool, right? It is also an interesting journey for me.
