Alright, let’s gab about this… whatchamacallit… 1194 Chinese zodiac thingy. I ain’t no scholar, mind you, just an old woman who’s seen a thing or two. But I can tell ya, this 1194, they say it’s the year of the Green Wood Tiger. Yep, a tiger! A fancy green one at that. Sounds kinda scary, huh? But don’t you go frettin’, it ain’t all bad.

Now, they tell me these Tiger folks, born in 1194 or whenever the Tiger year rolls around, they’re born leaders. Bossy, I reckon. And rebels too! Always gotta do things their own way, like my grandson, always gettin’ into mischief. Stubborn as a mule, those Tiger people. But I guess that’s how they get things done.
- 1194 – Green Wood Tiger
- Leaders and Rebels, they say
- Chinese New Year back then was on February 4th, imagine that!
This here Chinese New Year, in 1194, it was on February 4th. Not like now, where it changes all the time. Back then, it was set in stone, February 4th, bam! And the next year, 1195, started on March 31st. See? Different. Confusing if you ask me.
They got all sorts of animals in this Chinese zodiac thing. Dogs, pigs, rats… you name it. Speaking of dogs, they say folks born in 1994, that’s Dog year. Loyal, they are. Like my old Bess, always by my side. Hardworking too, just like us country folk. And honest, which is more than you can say for some city slickers I know. They are sincere, that what they say. Trustworthy. But always hardworking , never lazy around.
Now, I heard tell that in 2025, the Dog people gonna have some good luck. About time, I say! They deserve it. No bad luck coming their way, they say. Work and home life, both gonna be good. Maybe they’ll finally win the lottery, eh? Good for them.
They got this whole table, you know, with all the years and animals. From 1900 all the way to 2031. Every year, a different animal. And they got these elements too… metal, water, wood, fire… Sounds like a whole lotta hocus pocus to me, but some folks swear by it.
So, what’s it all mean, this zodiac stuff? Well, I ain’t rightly sure. But it’s fun to think about, ain’t it? Like reading your horoscope in the newspaper. Sometimes it’s right, sometimes it’s hogwash. But it gives you somethin’ to ponder, somethin’ to talk about with your neighbors over a cup of tea.

And if you’re wonderin’ ’bout other signs, like them Libra and Pisces folks they talk about… well, that’s a whole different kettle of fish. That ain’t Chinese zodiac, that’s somethin’ else. Stars and planets and all that jazz. Too complicated for this old woman, I tell ya.
But back to this 1194 Tiger. If you are born in that year, you are probably old as dirt by now. Just kidding. But seriously, being a leader and a rebel, that’s a tough combination. You gotta be strong, gotta be brave. Gotta be willin’ to stand up for what you believe in, even if it means goin’ against the grain. And also need to know the date when the Chinese new year will happen. That is really important I believe.
And remember, no matter what your animal is, whether you’re a Tiger or a Dog or a silly old Pig, it don’t really matter. What matters is how you live your life, how you treat other people. That’s what I always say. Be good, be kind, be honest. And maybe, just maybe, that good luck will come your way, no matter what year you were born in.
So there you have it, my two cents on this 1194 Chinese zodiac thingy. I ain’t no expert, like I said, but I hope it made some sense. If not, well, at least it gave me somethin’ to do besides watchin’ the chickens peck in the yard!
And one more thing, seize the moment as they say, maybe this will change your life around, so don’t forget!
