Okay, so I’ve been wanting to make a 2024 Chinese zodiac calendar for a while now, and I finally got around to doing it. I’m not a professional designer or anything, but I think it turned out pretty good! Here’s how I did it.
First, I started by looking up the Chinese zodiac animals and their corresponding years. I found a few different websites that had this information, so I just picked one that seemed reliable. It said 2024 is the Year of the Dragon, which is pretty cool.

Next, I opened a spreadsheet and made some columns for the months, days, and the zodiac animals. Then I just started filling it in, I went through each month and figured out which animal corresponded to each date.
After I had all the dates filled in, I decided to add some extra information. For example, for people born in the Year of the Rat, their luckiest day in 2024 is supposed to be January 23rd. And for Dragons, their lucky number is 2. I thought that would be a fun addition.
Once I had all the data in my spreadsheet, I looked for some cool designs online. I found a few templates and color schemes that I liked, and then I started playing around with them until I came up with something I was happy with.
Finally, I copied all the information from my spreadsheet into the design, and that was it! My 2024 Chinese zodiac calendar was complete.
- Rat: (1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020) – Luckiest Day: January 23
- Dragon: (1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012) – Lucky Number: 2
It wasn’t a super complicated project, but it was fun to do, and I learned a bit more about the Chinese zodiac in the process. I hope you guys like it!
Maybe I’ll do another one next year. Or maybe I’ll try a different kind of calendar. We’ll see what happens.
