Okay, so, let’s talk about horoscopes, shall we? I was messing around the other day, thinking about how cool it would be to have my own little horoscope thing, like those you see in newspapers or those fancy websites. So I thought, why not try to make one? I mean, how hard could it be, right?
I started by, you know, just looking around online, seeing what’s already out there. I found a bunch of sites. Some were free, some were like, “give us your money for the real deal.” But they all had those daily, weekly, even yearly horoscope readings. I was like, “Alright, I can do that.” I only wanted to display one of the horoscopes.
Then, I thought about the signs. There are like, 12 of them, right? Aries, Taurus, Gemini… all the way to Pisces. I needed to get the predictions for each of them. I found out that most of these predictions are kinda general. Like, “You’ll have a good day,” or “Watch out for tricky situations.” Nothing too specific, you know?
- I grabbed a notebook and started jotting down ideas.
- First, I needed a name. I came up with “horscopo heraldo”. Sounded kinda cool, kinda official.
- Next, I needed to figure out how to actually get those predictions.
That’s when things got a bit tricky. I’m no coder, but I know there are ways to, like, “scrape” info from websites. I tried some online tools that were supposed to do that, but they were either too complicated or didn’t work the way I wanted. I just wanted something simple, you know? Something that I could click and use without having to learn a whole new language. So, I tried a bunch of different things.
After a few hours of trial and error, I finally got something working. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a start. I managed to pull the daily horoscopes for each sign from a couple of different sources, just to see if they matched up. They were kinda similar, but not exactly the same. Which makes sense, I guess. It’s not like there’s one “official” horoscope, right? It’s all based on interpretations and stuff.
Getting the results
Anyway, I put all this stuff into a simple webpage. Nothing fancy, just the sign and the prediction. It looked pretty basic, but hey, it worked! I even added a little button to refresh the horoscopes, so you could get a new reading if you wanted. So there you have it, my little adventure in making my own horoscope thingy. It’s not going to win any awards, but it was a fun little project. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll turn it into something bigger. But for now, it’s just my “horscopo heraldo”, giving out daily predictions to anyone who’s interested.
And that is my sharing today!
