Okay, so, I got into this whole tarot card thing a while back. I mean, who hasn’t, right? It’s all over the internet and everyone’s talking about it. I picked up this deck called the “Witches Tarot” because, well, it looked cool and I’m all about that aesthetic. It’s got these awesome pictures on it, very nature-y and pagan vibes, which is totally my thing.
So first, I started by just looking at the cards. I mean, they’re pretty, but I had no clue what any of it meant. There’s this guy called “The Fool” who’s always at the beginning, and apparently, it’s like a journey or something? And there are all these other cards with cups, swords, and these pentacle things. It was all a bit overwhelming, to be honest.

Digging a Little Deeper
I found this guidebook that came with the deck, which was somewhat helpful. It explained the basics, like how the suits (that’s what they call the cups, swords, etc.) each represent different things. It started to make a little more sense. The book said each card also had like, a magical meaning, which is pretty interesting. Like, there are certain images on each card that are supposed to represent different things.
- Tried some simple readings: I started small, just pulling one card a day to see what it meant. Then I tried a three-card spread, which is like past, present, and future. It was fun, but I wasn’t sure if I was doing it right.
- Read more about each card: I spent some time just going through the guidebook and really reading about each card. There’s a lot to learn! Like, the “Two of Wands” has this dude looking out over the water, and it’s supposed to mean he’s successful.
- Practiced, practiced, practiced: I figured the only way to get better was to keep practicing. So I did readings for myself, for my friends, even for my cat (he wasn’t very helpful, though).
Still Learning, But It’s Fun
Honestly, I’m still figuring it out. It’s not like I’m suddenly psychic or anything. But it’s a fun way to think about things, and it’s kind of like a cool, mystical way to do a little self-reflection. There’s this one card, “The World,” that’s supposed to mean the end of the Fool’s journey, which is kind of deep when you think about it. Plus, the artwork is just really beautiful, and it’s fun to look at.
So yeah, that’s my tarot journey so far. I’m not an expert or anything, but it’s been a fun little hobby. If you’re thinking about trying it, I’d say go for it! Just don’t take it too seriously, and have fun with it. Oh, and maybe get a deck with a good guidebook, because you’re going to need it!
