Okay, so today I tried out this thing called a “Birthday Tarot Spread.” I’ve been getting more into tarot lately, just for fun and a bit of self-reflection, and I thought this would be a cool way to, like, celebrate my upcoming birthday and see what the cards might have to say about the year ahead.
First, I gathered my stuff. I have this tarot deck I really vibe with – it’s got these beautiful, kinda mystical images. I also lit a candle, just to set a calm and focused mood, you know? And I grabbed my journal and a pen, so I could write down everything.

The Spread
I found this spread online; it’s a pretty common one. It basically has 12 cards, one for each month of the year, plus a 13th card in the center that represents the overall theme.
- Card 1: July (My Birth Month)
- Card 2: August
- Card 3: September
- Card 4: October
- Card 5: November
- Card 6: December
- Card 7: January
- Card 8: Feburary
- Card 9: March
- Card 10: April
- Card 11: May
- Card 12: June
- Card 13: Overall Theme of the Year
Before I started,I shuffled the deck while thinking about my upcoming year. I wasn’t, like, praying or anything, just trying to clear my head and be open to whatever came up.I cut the deck into three, and picked them up randomly.
Then I laid out the cards one by one, face down, in the positions of the spread. After they were all laid out, I flipped them over. It was kinda exciting, like unwrapping little presents of insight!
I took my time with each card, really looking at the imagery and thinking about what it might mean in the context of that particular month. Like, for the first card, which was for my birth month, I got the “The Star.” For me, that feels hopeful, you know? Like a good sign for starting the year.
I jotted down notes in my journal about each card, my initial impressions, and any connections I could make to things already going on in my life. It got pretty * the card of September,October, and Decenmber, they have relative meaning, and it might happen in my real life.
For the overall theme card, I got “The Wheel of Fortune.” That one feels like it’s about embracing change and going with the flow, which is something I’m definitely working on!I have some plan to deal with it.I wrote it down and kept thinking.

Honestly, the whole process was super chill and *’s really help me to * or not the cards have any actual “power,” I found it to be a really useful exercise for setting intentions and thinking about what I want to focus on in the coming year.I’ll probably do this again next year!Maybe I will try other speard in the future!
