Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this idea I had – “tarot of h’arts,” kinda like a personalized tarot deck but, you know, cooler. I wanted something unique, something that really spoke to me.
Getting Started
First, I gathered all my art supplies. Think paints, markers, colored pencils, the whole shebang. I even dug out some old magazines for collage elements. The kitchen table became my command center – total chaos, but creative chaos, you know?

Brainstorming the Cards
Next up, I needed to figure out what each card would represent. I didn’t want to just copy the traditional tarot meanings. I wanted my own spin on things. So, I spent a good few days just scribbling in my notebook, brainstorming ideas, and making lists. It was a mess of words and doodles, but it helped me narrow down my concepts.
- The Fool: Representing new beginnings, but in a “leap of faith into a mosh pit” kind of way.
- The Magician: More like “The Manifestor,” all about turning ideas into reality through sheer willpower.
- Added some of my one card like “H” card
- And so on… you get the idea.
Creating the Artwork
This was the fun part (and also the most time-consuming). I started by sketching out rough designs for each card. Then, I went to town with the colors and details. I experimented with different styles – some cards are super detailed and realistic, while others are more abstract and, like, vibe-y. I even glued on some sequins and glitter, because why not? It’s my deck, right?
Putting it All Together
Once all the cards were done (which took, like, forever), I laid them all out on the floor. It was so cool to see them all together, like a little army of my own creations. Then I designed the cards.
The Final Product!
Honestly, I’m super proud of how this turned out. It’s not perfect, but it’s mine. And it’s a reminder that I can create whatever I put my mind to. It’s a deck, and a really cool one at that, all my cards and designed box, all the goods.
If you’re thinking of making your own tarot deck, or any kind of personalized project, just go for it! It’s a lot of work, but it’s so worth it in the end. You’ll have something totally unique and totally you. And that’s pretty awesome.
