Okay, so I wanted to make a Chinese zodiac calendar for 2003, the year of the Goat. I’ve always been fascinated by the Chinese zodiac, and I figured it would be a fun little project to put one together. It’s not like super complicated, but you know, it’s something to do.
First, I grabbed my laptop and opened up a new document. I could have used a fancy design program, but honestly, I just went with a simple text editor. I’m all about keeping things basic.

Next, I needed to get the dates right. I remembered that the Chinese New Year doesn’t start on January 1st, so I had to look that up. A quick search, I found the start and end to year 2003.
- Chinese New Year in 2003 started on February 1st.
- It’s the year of the Water Goat, by the way.
Then I started to fill it calendar out. I decided to make table, put date on left, notice on right.
After that, it was just a matter of filling in the rest. Not gonna lie, it was a little tedious, typing in all the dates and I search what date to notice. But hey, I was on a roll, and it was kind of satisfying to see it all come together.
I saved the file. So yeah, that’s how I made my Chinese zodiac calendar for 2003. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s mine, and I learned a bit about the lunar calendar in the process. Maybe next time I’ll try to make it look a little prettier, but for now, I’m happy with it!
