Okay, so I’ve been trying to kick this smoking habit for, like, forever. Seriously, it’s been a struggle. I heard someone mention something about astrology and the best time to quit, and I thought, “Why not? I’ve tried everything else!” So, I started digging around.
My “Quit Smoking” Journey (with a little help from the stars)
First, I downloaded a bunch of those astrology apps. You know, the ones that give you daily horoscopes and stuff. I wasn’t really sure what I was looking for, but I figured I’d start there.

I spent a few days just kind of tracking my moods and cravings alongside what the apps were saying. Honestly, most of it felt pretty general, but I did notice a pattern. When the apps talked about “strong willpower” days or “good for breaking habits,” I actually felt a little more motivated.
Then, I stumbled upon some articles talking about moon cycles and how they can affect our emotions and energy levels. Supposedly, the waning moon phase (when the moon is getting smaller) is a good time for releasing things, letting go of negativity, and, yep, quitting bad habits.
- So, I marked the next waning moon phase on my calendar.
- I prepared myself mentally. I bought some nicotine patches, stocked up on healthy snacks, and warned my friends that I might be a little grumpy.
- When the day finally arrived, I woke up, looked at the moon (well, I imagined it, since it was daytime), and said, “Okay, universe, let’s do this!”
It wasn’t magic, of course. I still had cravings. I still had moments where I wanted to reach for a cigarette. But, I have to admit, knowing that I was supposedly working with the cosmic energy, or whatever, gave me a little extra boost. It felt like I had a secret weapon.
I kept checking my astrology apps, and I tried to be extra mindful of my triggers. I focused on staying busy, drinking lots of water, and chewing gum like my life depended on it.
It’s been a few weeks now, and I’m still smoke-free! Is it the astrology? Is it just the placebo effect? I don’t know, and honestly, I don’t really care. Whatever it is, it’s working. Maybe there’s something to this whole stars-aligning thing after all. I’m going to keep using it.
