Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this Chinese zodiac calendar thing, and let me tell you, it’s pretty cool. I wanted to make a simple reference for myself, you know, so I could quickly look up the animal signs and what they supposedly mean. Here’s how I did it:
First, I dug up some info online. Just simple stuff, nothing too fancy. I wanted the basics: which animal represents each year and some keywords about their personality traits.

My Little Zodiac Cheat Sheet
I started by making a list. It wasn’t pretty, just a plain text file to jot down notes. I listed the years and the corresponding animals, like this:
- 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010, 2022: Tiger… Brave, Competitive, Confident
- 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011, 2023: Rabbit… Kind, Responsible, Calm
- 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, 2024: Dragon… Strong, Independent, a leader
- … and so on, you get the idea.
I kept going until I had all twelve animals down, and I added a few notes next to each one about the personality traits. So, like, for the Tiger, I put down “brave,” “competitive,” and “confident.” For the Rabbit, I wrote “kind,” “responsible,” and “calm.” Simple words, easy to remember.
Then, I went through each animal sign and tried to think of any other keywords or phrases that popped into my head. It’s my notes, after all, and I wanted the meanings to be how I see it. After doing this for a little while, I finally had something I could easily check and refer back to.
It’s not perfect, and it’s definitely not a deep dive into Chinese astrology or anything. But it’s my cheat sheet, and it works for me! I can look at a year and instantly get a general idea of the animal’s characteristics. Mission accomplished!
