Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get into tarot for a while, and I finally took the plunge. I decided to go with the “Harmony Tarot” deck because, well, the name sounded nice and peaceful. I’m calling this little project “harmony tarot”.
First thing I did was find a quiet spot in my apartment. I cleared off my coffee table – which is usually a disaster zone of books and half-empty mugs – and laid down a nice cloth. I think it’s supposed to be a special tarot cloth, but I just used a pretty scarf I had.

Getting Started
Then, I opened the box. The cards themselves were really pretty, with soft, watercolor-like illustrations. I spent a few minutes just looking at them, getting a feel for the imagery. I didn’t really know what any of the cards meant yet, but I just let myself appreciate the artwork.
Next, I shuffled the deck. This was harder than it looked! I’m not very good at shuffling cards, so I just did my best, trying to focus my thoughts on, like, “What do I need to know today?” It felt a bit silly, to be honest, but I went with it.
The Reading
- I decided to do a simple three-card spread: past, present, and future. I carefully laid out the cards, face down.
- Then, one by one, I flipped them over. I don’t remember the exact cards I got – I should have written them down! – but I remember one of them was a card with a bunch of cups, and another one had a woman holding a sword.
Figuring it Out
I had the little guidebook that came with the deck, so I looked up each card. The book gave some keywords and interpretations, which I tried to connect to my own life. It was kind of like a puzzle, trying to figure out how these symbolic images related to my current situation.
Honestly, I didn’t have any major “aha!” moments. But it was a really calming experience. It forced me to slow down, think about things, and pay attention to my intuition. It felt less like fortune-telling and more like a guided meditation.
After the reading, I carefully put the cards back in their box. I’m definitely going to try this again. Maybe I’ll get better at shuffling, and maybe I’ll start to recognize the cards and their meanings without having to look them up every time. But even if I don’t, it’s a nice way to spend a quiet evening.
