Okay, so today I tried out this thing called “Gourmet Tarot,” and let me tell you, it was a bit of a ride. I’m no tarot expert, not even close, but I like food, and I like weird stuff, so this seemed right up my alley.
First, I dug around online to find some info. There are a few different things that pop up when you search, Seems like it’s not one single, established “thing.” But I found some cool images of tarot cards with food themes – like, the Queen of Pentacles but with a giant pizza, or the Lovers card with two bowls of ramen. That’s the vibe I was going for.

My DIY Gourmet Tarot Process
Here’s what I did:
- Gathered my “ingredients”: I grabbed a regular deck of tarot cards, some food magazines, scissors, glue, and some blank index cards.
- Looked up some basic tarot meanings. I didn’t get too deep, just the general idea of each card.
- Flipped through the magazines and cut out pictures of food that seemed to “fit” the card meanings. Like, for the “Strength” card, I found a picture of a really hearty steak. For “The Star,” I found a picture of a beautiful, sparkly dessert. You get the idea.
- Glued the food pictures onto the index cards. I wrote the name of the card on the back. It wasn’t pretty, but it worked.
Then came the “reading.” I shuffled my homemade deck, focused on a question (a very important one: “What should I have for dinner?”), and drew three cards.
I got:
The “abundance” picture for a very large and full of seafood noodles.(Past),
The steak means power(Present),
and a beautiful cake(Future).

My interpretation? I’ve already eating enough big meals, and I am strong enough now, so I just need easy dessert, and i am so happy to eat it. maybe eat a simple cake is great!
Honestly, the whole thing was more about being creative and having fun than any serious fortune-telling. But it did make me think about food in a new way, and it was a pretty entertaining way to spend an afternoon. Would I do it again? Maybe! If I find some really cool food pics, I might just have to make a “Gourmet Tarot 2.0.”
