So, I was messing around with some old stuff and stumbled upon this question about the Chinese zodiac in 1899. It got me thinking, “Hey, I can figure this out!”
Digging into the Past
First, I needed to know what the Chinese zodiac sign was for 1899. I did a quick search, and guess what popped up? It’s the Yellow Earth Pig!

- Yep, that’s right. The Pig.
- And to be even more specific, it’s the Yellow Earth Pig.
Finding the Chinese New Year Date
I wanted to find that the date of the specific 1899 Chinese new year, 1899, chinese zodiac sign is *, I found out it all started on February 10th, 1899. So, I guess if you were born before that date in 1899, you’d be under the previous year’s sign. After Feb 10 you are born on Pig year.
Looking Ahead
And just for kicks, I checked when the next year, 1900, started in the Chinese calendar. Turns out, it began on January 31st, 1900. That seemed pretty interesting.
It’s kinda cool how these things work, right? A little bit of digging, and you can uncover all sorts of neat facts. Hope you enjoyed this little trip back in time with me!
