Okay, so I wanted to make a Chinese zodiac calendar for 2007. I’ve always been kind of fascinated by the zodiac, and I figured it would be a fun little project. Plus, I thought it would be cool to have on hand.
Getting Started
First things first, I dug around online to make sure I had my facts straight. You know, which animal corresponded to 2007 and all the specific dates. Turns out, 2007 was the Year of the Pig, starting on February 18th.

Putting It Together
Then I opened an application and started to draft this thing. I listed out all the months, and then I carefully inputted the dates, making sure to highlight February 18th as the start of the Lunar New Year.
- January 1, 2007 – still Year of the Dog
- February 17,2007- still Year of the Dog
- February 18, 2007 – Year of the Pig begins!
- …and so on…
I double-checked, triple-checked, and even quadruple-checked everything. I did it more than four times.
I wanted to be absolutely certain I didn’t mess up any of the dates. That would defeat the whole purpose, right?
Final Touches
Once I was confident with the dates, I added some visual to make it a bit more festive. I am not a designer,I played around with the colors until I found something that looked okay.
Finally, I saved the final product.

And there you have it! My very own, homemade (or rather, computer-made) Chinese zodiac calendar for 2007. It was a simple project, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.
