Okay, so yesterday I decided to try out this “Lammas Tarot Spread” thing I saw online. I’ve been feeling a little disconnected lately, and honestly, the whole “first harvest” vibe of Lammas resonated. So, I figured, why not?
First, I grabbed my favorite tarot deck – the one with the really beautiful artwork. I just connect with it better, you know? Then, I lit a couple of candles. Nothing fancy, just some plain white ones to create a bit of atmosphere. I also put on some chill, instrumental music. Gotta set the mood, right?

Next, I found a quiet spot in my apartment, spread out a nice cloth on the floor (purple, because it felt right), and laid out the cards in the Lammas spread pattern I’d found. It was a six-card spread, laid out sort of like a stalk of wheat, which I thought was pretty cool.
The Questions and My Pulls
- Card 1: What have I harvested so far this year? I pulled The Sun. Okay, that felt pretty good! To me, it signifies success, joy, and overall positive energy. Made me think about some of the wins I’ve had, both big and small.
- Card 2: What is ready to be released? Here I got the Five of Swords. Ouch. This one is about conflict, defeat, and maybe holding onto things that aren’t serving me. Definitely some food for thought there.
- Card 3: What needs to be nurtured for the future? The Queen of Cups showed up here. This felt like a call to focus on my intuition, emotions, and relationships. Makes sense.
- Card 4: What blessings am I grateful for? I drew the Ten of Pentacles. Family, stability, abundance – yeah, I definitely have a lot to be thankful for in that department.
- Card 5: What seeds am I planting for the coming months? The Ace of Wands appeared. New beginnings, inspiration, and taking action. Exciting!
- Card 6: What wisdom do I need to carry forward? The final card was The Hermit. Interesting. To me, it’s about introspection, seeking inner guidance, and taking time for solitude.
After laying out all the cards, I just sat with them for a while. I didn’t rush it. I looked at each card, thought about the questions, and jotted down some notes in my journal about what came up. Some of it was pretty obvious, other stuff was more subtle and required some real digging.
Overall, it was a really worthwhile experience. It helped me to reflect on where I’m at, what I’m grateful for, and what I want to focus on moving forward. I definitely plan to do this spread again next Lammas, and maybe even incorporate other seasonal spreads into my practice. If you’re feeling a bit lost or just want to check in with yourself, I’d recommend giving it a try!
