So I bumped into this thing called the “13-month calendar zodiac” the other day, I was like, what the heck is this? I mean, I know the usual 12 zodiac signs, like, you know, Aries, Taurus, and all that stuff. But 13? That threw me off. So I dug a little deeper. Turns out, some folks think there should be a 13th sign, called Ophiuchus, the serpent-bearer. I was like, no way! I spent so much time to make sense of it.
I found some resources online, saying stuff like “Summary of yearly/monthly overviews” and “dates, times, and descriptions of New Moons and Full Moons.” I’m no astrologer, but I do know a thing or two about retrogrades. Like, when Mercury is in retrograde, everything goes haywire, right? Anyway, this calendar also talks about “Planetary Stations,” which I guess are the dates when planets go retrograde or direct. Sounds complicated, huh? I just ignored them and kept digging.
Then I found out that this whole 13-sign thing is not really new. People have been talking about it for years. There’s even this thing called the “cusp,” which is like, if you’re born on the edge of two signs, you might have traits from both. So I checked if there was any data about people born “on the cusp” between 1950 and 2019. Turns out, there are! But still, most people use the 12-sign system, so I stuck with that for now. I just can’t deal with another sign. 12 is enough for me.
So, after a whole day of research, I decided to make my own 13-month calendar. Yeah, I know I just said 12 is enough, but hear me out. I used the dates and descriptions I found online and added Ophiuchus to the mix. It was a mess at first, trying to fit everything in, but I finally did it! And I did not just stop there, I tried to draw some pictures to represent each of the 13 signs. That was such a pain to make it looks nice.

- Then, I added the dates for when each planet goes retrograde and direct.
- After that, I divided the year into 13 months, giving each month a zodiac sign, including Ophiuchus.
- Finally, I drew some cool pictures to represent each sign.
It took a while, but I think it turned out pretty okay. I mean, it’s not perfect, but it’s something. Now, I just don’t really know what I should do with this calendar. But if you’re curious about the 13-month zodiac, maybe this calendar will give you some ideas. At least, that’s what I hope. I mean, I spent a lot of time on this, I gotta get something out of it, right?
Conclusion
