Okay, so I’ve been messing around with tarot cards for a while now, and I heard that using crystals can really amp up the experience. I decided to give it a shot, and let me tell you, it’s been pretty interesting.
First, I gathered my stuff. I got my tarot deck, the one I always use, and then I started looking into which crystals to try. After some reading, I picked out a few that seemed popular for tarot: amethyst, clear quartz, rose quartz, and black tourmaline. I already had an amethyst from a trip and some clear quartz in a bracelet, so I ordered the other two online. They arrived in a couple of days, nothing fancy, just a small parcel.

Once I had all four crystals, I decided to cleanse them. You know, just to clear out any weird energy. I ran them under cold water for a minute and then placed them on my windowsill to dry in the sunlight. It was a sunny day, so they got a good dose of those rays.
Now, for the actual reading. I set up my little reading space like I always do. I lit a candle, not for any specific reason, just like the vibe, and laid out my tarot cloth. Then, I placed the crystals around my deck. I put the amethyst near the top, the clear quartz on the right, the rose quartz on the left, and the black tourmaline at the bottom. I don’t know if there’s a “right” way to do it, but it felt good to me.
I started my reading like usual, shuffling the cards, focusing on my question, and then laying them out. But this time, with the crystals around, I felt… different. Like, more connected, I guess. Especially the amethyst and the clear quartz, they’re supposed to help with intuition and clarity. The rose quartz is more about love and emotions, so when those cards came up, I felt a stronger pull.
The black tourmaline was interesting too. It’s for protection and grounding. I think it helped keep me focused and not get too carried away with the reading. After I finished, I actually felt less drained than usual.
So, that’s my experience with using crystals for tarot readings. Was it a total game-changer? I don’t know. But it definitely added something extra to the whole process. I plan to keep experimenting with different crystals and placements to see what works best. Maybe I’ll try some others like lapis lazuli or blue kyanite next time. I heard those are good for spiritual stuff too.
It’s all about finding what resonates with you, right? If you’re into tarot, I’d say give it a try. It’s a fun little addition to the ritual, and who knows, it might just open up a whole new level of insight for you.
