So, guys, I was messing around with the idea of making a 2023 Chinese zodiac calendar. You know, just for kicks and giggles. I’m no expert, but I always find this stuff fascinating.
Started off by digging into what the deal is with the Chinese zodiac in 2023. Turns out, it’s the Year of the Rabbit, specifically the Water Rabbit. I gathered some basic info, like how it starts on January 22, 2023, and goes on until February 9, 2024. I thought, “Hey, this could be fun to visualize.”

Then I got into the predictions. Apparently, it’s gonna be a wild ride for those born in the Year of the Rabbit. They’re in their Ben Ming Nian, which I learned means there might be more ups and downs than usual. I jotted down some notes about this, thinking it could be cool to highlight these dates on the calendar.
- Looked up which signs are supposed to have a good year. Ox, Tiger, and Snake are apparently in for some good luck.
- Noted down that Dog, Horse, Goat, and Pig might have a bit of a rough time. Kinda felt bad for them, but hey, that’s what the stars say, right?
I started playing around with a design. Nothing fancy, just something to put all this info together. I divided the calendar into months and marked down the start and end dates of the Water Rabbit year. Then I added little notes about the lucky and not-so-lucky signs for each period.
It was a bit of a challenge to fit everything in without making it look like a total mess. I used different colors for the lucky signs and the ones that might face some challenges. Also added some rabbit symbols here and there ’cause, why not? It’s the Year of the Rabbit, after all.
After a few hours of tinkering, I finally had something that looked like a proper calendar. It wasn’t perfect, but I was pretty happy with it. It was cool to see all that info come together in a way that made sense.
In the end, I realized this was more than just a fun little project. It was a neat way to learn about the Chinese zodiac and see how it supposedly affects different people. Plus, it was a nice break from my usual routine. Who knew making a calendar could be so interesting?
So, yeah, that’s my little adventure with the 2023 Chinese zodiac calendar. It was a good time, and I ended up learning a thing or two. Maybe I’ll do another one next year. We’ll see!
