Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this thing called the “Gilded Tarot” lately, and I gotta say, it’s pretty darn cool.
Getting Started
First off, I’m not some kind of tarot expert or anything. I just thought it looked interesting, you know? So, I picked up this deck called the Gilded Tarot. It’s got these really fancy, like, digitally made pictures on it. I heard the guy who made it, Ciro Marchetti, is some big-shot artist. Anyway, the deck I got is based on that classic Rider-Waite-Smith style. It’s not that difficult to find, just search online you can find it.

Diving into Practice
So, I started by just looking at the cards. Each one has a different picture, and they’re all pretty detailed. I spent some time just familiarizing myself with them. You know, trying to get a feel for what each card might mean. I’d shuffle the deck, pull out a card, and just stare at it for a while.
Then, I looked up some basic meanings online. I mean, there are tons of websites and books about tarot, and, to be honest, it was a bit overwhelming at first. There was a sheet that gave me a quick rundown of each card’s meaning. It wasn’t super detailed, but it gave me a starting point, this sheet is mainly for Rider-Waite-Smith style, that was convenient.
Putting it all Together
After I had a basic understanding of the cards, I started doing some simple readings for myself. Nothing too fancy, just like, “What’s the vibe for today?” or “What should I focus on this week?” kinds of questions. I’d shuffle the deck, lay out a few cards, and then try to interpret them based on what I’d learned.
Honestly, it was kind of hit or miss at first. Sometimes the cards seemed to make sense with what was going on in my life, and other times it felt like they were just random pictures. But the more I practiced, the more I started to see connections.
My Takeaway So Far
- It takes time: Don’t expect to be a tarot master overnight. It takes time to learn the cards and develop your intuition.
- It’s personal: There’s no one right way to read tarot. What matters is what the cards mean to you.
- It’s fun: Even if you don’t believe in the mystical side of things, it’s still a fun way to reflect on your life and explore your thoughts.
So, that’s my Gilded Tarot journey so far. It’s been a pretty interesting experience, and I’m definitely going to keep at it. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll actually get good at this! But for now, I’m just enjoying the process of learning and exploring.
