Today, I wanna talk about this thing called a “year tarot spread.” I got into it a while back, and it’s been a pretty cool way to think about the year ahead. So, here’s how I did it and what I got from it.
First off, I grabbed my tarot deck. You know, the one with all those mysterious pictures. I gave them a good shuffle while thinking about the year 2024. Just trying to get my head in the game, you know?

Then, I laid out the cards in this specific order they call the “year spread.” It’s like 13 cards in total. Each card represents a month of the year, starting from January, and the 13th one is like the big theme for the whole year.
My Spread
- January: I pulled out The Magician. This one’s all about using your skills and resources. Made me think I should kick off the year focusing on what I’m good at.
- February: Got The Lovers. Relationships, choices, you get the idea. Figured February might be a time to think about the people in my life and maybe make some important decisions.
- March: The Chariot showed up. This card’s about willpower and moving forward. Told myself to stay strong and keep pushing through any challenges this month.
- April: Pulled Justice. It’s about fairness and balance. I guessed that April will be a time to make sure I’m being fair to myself and others.
- May: Got The Hermit. Time for some alone thinking, maybe? I took it as a sign to spend some time reflecting and figuring things out on my own.
- June: Wheel of Fortune came up. This one’s about change and cycles. I thought, “Okay, be ready for some ups and downs in June.”
- July: Strength showed its face. Inner strength, courage, that sort of thing. I figured July might need me to be brave and handle things with a gentle but firm hand.
- August: The Hanged Man. This one’s a bit tricky. It’s about seeing things from a different perspective. I decided to stay open to new ways of thinking this month.
- September: Death popped up. Don’t freak out; it’s more about transformation than, you know, actual death. I saw it as a time for major changes and letting go of the old.
- October: Temperance was next. It’s about balance and patience. I figured October would be a good time to practice being patient and keeping things in harmony.
- November: The Devil. This card’s about facing your shadows. I thought November might be the month to deal with some inner demons or bad habits.
- December: The Star. Hope, inspiration, feeling good about things. Seemed like a nice way to end the year, focusing on the positive.
- Overall Theme: The World. This one’s about completion and feeling whole. It felt like a good sign that 2024 could be a year of tying up loose ends and feeling accomplished.
After laying them all out, I took some time to just look at them. I wrote down what each card might mean for that month and how they all fit together. It wasn’t about predicting the future or anything. More like setting some intentions and getting a feel for what I wanted to focus on each month.
I gotta say, it was a pretty interesting experience. Whether you believe in tarot or not, it’s a cool way to think about your goals and how you wanna approach the year. I’ve kept my notes and I’m kinda curious to see how things actually play out. Maybe I’ll check back in throughout the year and see if these cards had any hints for me. It’s all just a bit of fun, really, but sometimes it’s nice to have a little ritual to start the year, you know?
