Okay, so the other day, I was feeling a little lost and unsure about things. You know, those moments where you just want a little guidance? I decided to pull out my tarot deck and try a 6-card spread I’d heard about, focused on the past, present, and future. I’m not an expert by any means, but I find it fun and sometimes surprisingly insightful.
First, I grounded myself. I took a few deep breaths, lit a candle, and just tried to clear my head. I shuffled the cards while thinking about my general situation, not focusing on any one specific question. It’s more about getting an overall vibe, you know?

My Card Layout.
Then, I laid out the cards face down in this order:
- Card 1: Distant Past – Like, the foundation of what’s going on.
- Card 2: Recent Past – Things that have just happened and are still affecting me.
- Card 3: Present – What’s happening right now.
- Card 4: Hidden Influences – Stuff I might not be fully aware of.
- Card 5: Advice – What I should focus on or do.
- Card 6: Future Outcome – Where things are likely headed.
I flipped them over one by one, taking my time to really look at each card and see what feelings or thoughts came up. I’m not gonna lie, some of the imagery can be a bit… intense. But I try to just go with my gut feeling about what it means for me.
I jotted down my initial impressions in my journal. Just keywords and phrases, nothing fancy. Like, for the “Present” card, I got the Three of Swords, which, yeah, looks pretty gloomy with the heart and swords. But for me, it felt more like acknowledging some current disappointments rather than, like, impending doom. The key is the combination of the all cards.
Then i Meditated on the whole reading for a bit. I noticed some connections between the cards. For example, the “Hidden Influences” card seemed to explain why the “Recent Past” card had been so challenging. Seeing it all laid out gave me a different perspective.
I’m not saying this is some magical solution or anything. I Didn’t have a specific “aha!” moment. But it helped me organize my thoughts and feel a little more in control. It’s like a conversation starter with myself, if that makes sense. I’ll probably revisit my notes in a few weeks and see if anything resonates differently.
It was a useful experience, and I am very happy to share this with you all.
