Okay, so today I decided to dive into a “Full Moon in Leo” tarot spread. I’ve been feeling this intense energy lately, and I figured, why not try to channel it with some tarot?
First, I cleared my space. I’m a big believer in setting the mood, you know? I lit some incense – sandalwood, my favorite – and put on some chill, instrumental music. Just something to get me in the zone. Then I got my tarot deck. It’s a well-loved Rider-Waite deck, nothing fancy, but it’s always felt right to me.

I shuffled the cards while focusing on the full moon’s energy. I pictured that big, bright moon in my mind, and I thought about Leo – fire, passion, creativity. All that good stuff.
I did some searching for full moon leo tarot spread, and I found many different types of spread. I used a simple five-card spread I found online:
- Card 1: What is illuminated for me during this Full Moon?
- Card 2: What am I ready to release?
- Card 3: What creative energy can I tap into?
- Card 4: How can I best express myself?
- Card 5: What message does my inner child have for me?
I laid out the cards one by one, face down, and then flipped them over. I won’t bore you with every single detail of my interpretation, I just want to share the process, right?
I spent some time with each card, just looking at the imagery and letting my intuition kick in. I do not remember which card I got, What’s important is I jotted down some notes in my journal about my initial impressions for each card. Kind of like stream-of-consciousness writing, just whatever came to mind.
After I felt like I had a good grasp on each individual card, I started to look for connections between them. Like, how did the “what to release” card relate to the “creative energy” card? Did the “inner child” message tie into the “what’s illuminated” card? It’s like putting together a little puzzle.
Honestly, the whole process was pretty insightful. It gave me a framework to think about some things I’ve been feeling, and it helped me to, I don’t know, clarify my intentions? I feel like I have a better sense of what I want to focus on moving forward, and what I need to let go of. I’m not saying it was some magical transformation, but it was definitely a helpful exercise.

I finished up by thanking the cards.I put my deck away, and I sat for a few minutes, just breathing and feeling grateful. Overall, a pretty good way to spend an evening, I’d say!
