Okay, so the other day I was trying to figure out something about my birth year, 1989, and how it relates to the Chinese zodiac. I kinda knew it was the year of the Snake, but I wanted to be absolutely sure and see if I could find a cool calendar image or something.
First, I opened up my browser and typed in “chinese zodiac calendar 1989”. Pretty straightforward, right?

The search results popped up, and I saw a bunch of websites. I clicked on a few that looked promising, mostly ones that had “zodiac” and “1989” clearly in the description.
- Some sites were just general information about the Chinese zodiac – you know, explaining the animals and the elements and all that.
- Others had these interactive calendars where you could click on a year and it would tell you the animal.
I scrolled through a few of those, and yep, 1989 was definitely the Year of the Snake. Earth Snake, to be precise. I learned that apparently, people born in the Year of the Snake are supposed to be wise and charming… I’ll take it!
Digging Deeper
Then, I got a little more curious. I wanted to find an actual calendar image from 1989, like the kind you’d hang on your wall, but showing the Chinese zodiac animal.
So, I refined my search. I added “image” and “printable” to my search terms. I even tried “vintage” hoping for something that looked a little old-school.
This time, the results were a bit more mixed. I found a few that were close, but not exactly what I was looking for. Some were just generic zodiac charts, others were modern calendars with the animal slapped on.
Finally, after a bit more digging, I stumbled upon a couple of images that looked pretty good. They weren’t perfect – maybe not “vintage” exactly – but they clearly showed a snake and the year 1989, in a style that looked like an old Chinese calendar. I saved those to my computer.

So, yeah, that’s how I went about confirming my Chinese zodiac sign and finding a related calendar image. It was a fun little research project! It may seems simple, but I did learn and achieve something.
