Alright, listen up, y’all. Let’s talk about this moon stuff, the zodiac moon phase calendar, or whatever them city folks call it. I ain’t got no fancy book learnin’, but I know a thing or two about the moon, you see. Been watchin’ it my whole life, plantin’ by it, feelin’ it in my bones.
Now, they got these calendars, you know, tellin’ you when the moon’s gonna be full, when it’s gonna be new, and all that jazz. They say it matters, and I reckon it does. Like, when the moon’s all big and bright, that’s the full moon. Things get kinda crazy then, don’t they? People act up, animals get restless, and the tides, oh boy, the tides get real high.

Then there’s the new moon. That’s when you can’t see it at all. Dark as night, it is. But that don’t mean it ain’t doin’ nothin’. That’s when you plant your seeds, you see? Get ’em started in the dark, so they can grow strong when the light comes back.
They also talk about these moon signs. Said somethin’ about the moon goin’ through all them zodiac signs, like the sun does. Virgo moon, they call it today. I don’t know much about that, but I guess it means somethin’. They say it affects how you feel, what you should do. Like, maybe plantin’ potatoes when the moon’s in Taurus is good, or somethin’ like that. I just plant when it feels right, ya know?
- Full Moon: Big and bright, things get crazy.
- New Moon: Dark as night, time to plant seeds.
- Moon Signs: Moon goes through the zodiac, affects how you feel.
Now, these calendars, they ain’t new. Folks been watchin’ the moon for ages. Farmers, fishermen, even them fancy folks in the cities, they all looked to the moon. It tells you when to plant, when to harvest, when to fish, when to…well, I don’t know what them city folks do with the moon, but they got their reasons, I guess.
This here calendar for 2024, they say it’s got all the info you need. Tells you when the moon’s gonna be full, when it’s gonna be new, when them supermoons are comin’, and even them eclipses, where the sun or the moon gets all covered up. Sounds fancy, huh?
But you know what? You don’t need no fancy calendar to know the moon. Just go outside at night, look up at the sky, and you’ll see it. Big and bright, or sliver thin, or maybe not there at all. But it’s always there, pullin’ at the tides, affectin’ the crops, and maybe, just maybe, affectin’ us too.
They say these moon phases, they got four main ones. New moon, like I said, that’s for startin’ things. Then comes the first quarter, when you can see half the moon. That’s when things start growin’. Then the full moon, that’s when everything’s at its peak. And finally, the last quarter, when the moon starts shrinkin’ again. That’s when you finish things up, get ready for the new cycle to begin.

So, if you want to get all fancy, you can go get yourself one of them zodiac moon phase calendars. They got all the dates and times, all the signs and whatnot. But if you just want to know the moon, just look up. It’ll tell you everything you need to know. It’s been doin’ it for folks like me for a long, long time.
And remember, when that moon is big and full, you might just wanna stay indoors and keep your doors locked, because you never know what kind of crazy might be lurking about. I seen things happen on a full moon that would make your hair stand straight up on your head! So best to be careful, ya hear? And make sure to plant those taters when the time is right, so you got something to eat when the cold wind starts blowin’.
Now, if you want to calculate when the moon was in a certain sign when you was born, they say you need to know the exact time and place you come into this world. Sounds like a lot of trouble to me, but I guess some folks find it important. Me? I just go by what feels right. The moon, she’ll guide you if you let her. Just gotta listen.
