Okay, so, today I want to share my experience with the “Tarot of the Old Path.” It’s a really cool tarot deck, and I’ve been messing around with it a bit.
I heard that this deck was made by some big-shot Wiccan people, so it’s all about that magical Old Religion stuff. I’m not super into all of that, but I thought it would be neat to try it out. I managed to get my hands on a complete deck, all 78 cards, the original box, and even the instructions. The box is a little beat up, but who cares, right? It just shows it’s been loved.

Getting Started
First thing I did was just go through the cards and look at the pictures. The artwork is pretty unique, and there are some weird symbols and stuff that I didn’t recognize. I spent a good chunk of time just familiarizing myself with each card, trying to get a feel for the vibe of the deck. I even read through the instructions a couple of times, although they were a bit confusing.
Doing a Reading
Then, I decided to try a simple reading. I don’t really know a lot of fancy spreads or anything, so I just shuffled the cards while thinking about a question I had. I pulled out three cards and laid them out in a row. The first card was supposed to represent the past, the second the present, and the third the future.
- The Past Card: It was some knight, which I guess means something about action or challenges in my past. Makes sense, I’ve definitely had a bumpy ride.
- The Present Card: This one was “The High Priestess,” which supposedly has to do with intuition and hidden knowledge. Maybe it’s telling me to trust my gut more.
- The Future Card: I got “The Hanged Man.” This one freaked me out a little bit, to be honest. But then I read that it can mean wisdom and seeing things from a different perspective. The picture shows a guy hanging upside down, but he’s got a halo, so maybe it’s not all bad, I guess it means I need to sacrifice something to get to where I want to be in the future.
My Thoughts
Honestly, I’m not sure what to make of the reading. It was kind of fun, but also a little spooky. I’m not going to lie, the “Hanged Man” card did give me a bit of a chill. But overall, it was an interesting experience. I think I’ll keep playing around with the deck and see if I can learn more about it. Maybe I’ll even try to find some more detailed interpretations of the cards online.
So, that’s my little adventure with the “Tarot of the Old Path.” It’s definitely a unique deck, and I’m curious to see where it takes me. If any of you have experience with this deck, I’d love to hear about it!
