Okay, so I’ve been getting really into tarot lately. It’s been super fun, but I wanted to see if I could, like, boost the energy or something. I heard crystals could help, so I decided to dive in and see what all the fuss was about. This is what I did.
Finding the Right Crystals
First, I hit up Google. I just searched for “best crystals for tarot,” and, wow, there’s a LOT of info out there. It was kinda overwhelming, to be honest. I found a bunch of articles and blogs listing different crystals and what they’re supposed to do. I made some notes.

I learned some popular choices:
- Clear Quartz: It is for amplifying energy and clarity.
- Amethyst: It is for intuition and spiritual connection.
- Selenite: It is for cleansing and clearing energy.
- Labradorite: It is for protection and enhancing psychic abilities.
My Crystal Shopping Trip
Armed with my little list, I went to this cute little crystal shop near my place. The lady there was super helpful. She showed me all the different stones and even let me hold them to see if I felt any, like, vibes. I’m not sure if I felt anything specific, but I did gravitate towards a few.
I ended up picking out a small, polished piece of clear quartz (it just felt…right?), a beautiful purple amethyst that was kinda sparkly, and a selenite wand because it looked cool and I liked the idea of “cleansing” my deck.
Setting Up My Tarot Space
When I got home, I decided to create a dedicated space for my tarot readings. I picked a quiet corner of my room, put down a nice cloth, and arranged my new crystals around where I usually lay out my cards.
I put the clear quartz near the top, thinking it could amplify the overall energy. I placed the amethyst closer to where I sit, hoping it would help me tap into my intuition, The selenite wand I put to the side, using it to “cleanse” my deck and the space by waving it around, like you would with sage, before and after readings. That’s what the shop lady told me to do.
My First Reading with Crystals
I did a simple three-card spread for myself. I’m not gonna lie, it felt different. Maybe it was just the placebo effect, but the whole atmosphere felt more…focused? I felt more connected to the cards, and the reading seemed clearer and more insightful than usual.

My takeaways
I have conducted a few experiments, and it is interesting to record each experiment.
I think the crystals added a nice touch to my tarot practice. I’m not sure if they magically boosted my readings, but they definitely made the experience feel more special and intentional. I think I will be continue to using them.
I’ll keep experimenting and see how it goes. Maybe I’ll even add more crystals to my collection! It’s a fun little experiment, and it makes my tarot time feel even more magical.
