Okay, so I’ve been trying to get a jump on planning for next year, and you know how it is – gotta have a calendar! But I wanted something a little different this time, something with the Chinese zodiac. So, I decided to make my own “Chinese Zodiac Calendar 2025”. Here’s how I did it:
First, I needed to figure out which animal corresponds to 2025. A quick search told me it’s the Snake. Cool, I like snakes!

Then, I had to find the dates. I needed to know when the Lunar New Year starts in 2025, because that’s when the year of the Snake officially begins. Another search, and I found out it’s January 29th, 2025.
With that key date in hand, I started building my calendar. I decided to go with a simple table format, nothing fancy. I used a basic word processor for this.
Putting it all together
I created a table with columns for the month, the Gregorian calendar dates, and a space to note the corresponding Lunar calendar dates. I also added a column for any special notes or events.
- I filled in the Gregorian calendar dates, month by month.
- Then, I carefully marked January 29th as the start of the Lunar New Year.
- I also looked and added the dates for other important Chinese festivals, like the Lantern Festival, and wrote it. I will go back and edit as I know more dates.
It took a bit of time to double-check everything and make sure I had the dates right, but it was worth it. Now I’ve got a customized calendar that’s not only practical but also has that cool Chinese zodiac element. I might even print it out and hang it up!
It’s not perfect, I added some dates from checking online, but it’s mine, and I did it myself. A great personal project for sure!.
