Okay, so I’ve been seeing these Taurus constellation necklaces everywhere and I finally caved. I mean, I’m a Taurus, so it’s practically my birthright to have one, right? I wanted to make my own, though, because, well, I like making things. Plus, I could customize it exactly how I wanted.
First, I gathered my materials. This was the fun part, picking out all the shiny bits!

- Some delicate gold chain – I went with a finer one because I wanted it to look dainty.
- Tiny little gold beads – these would be my stars.
- Jump rings – gotta connect everything somehow.
- A clasp – so I can actually wear the thing.
- Pliers – my trusty tools for jewelry making. I used two, one to hold and one to bend.
- Wire cutters.
Next, I laid out my design. I just eyeballed the Taurus constellation from a picture I found online. It’s basically a slightly wonky “V” shape. I arranged the beads on my table in that shape until I was happy with how it looked.
Putting it Together
This was the slightly fiddly part. I started by attaching a jump ring to one end of the chain. Then, I carefully threaded a bead onto the chain, followed by another jump ring. I repeated this, spacing the beads out according to my “V” shape design.
It took a bit of patience, honestly. My fingers felt huge and clumsy, and those beads are tiny. I dropped a couple, and one rolled under the sofa – that was a whole adventure in itself. But, I kept going, adding beads and jump rings until I had my constellation.
Once all the “stars” were in place, I attached another jump ring to the other end of the chain, and then I added the clasp. And that was it!
I tried it on, and I have to say, I’m pretty pleased with myself. It’s exactly what I wanted – simple, delicate, and a little bit sparkly. It’s my own little piece of the night sky, and I made it myself. That feels pretty good.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go admire my new necklace. Maybe I’ll make one for my friend who’s a Gemini next…
