Okay, so I’ve been seeing these super cute constellation necklaces everywhere, and I decided I had to make one for myself. I’m a Gemini, so obviously, I needed a Gemini constellation necklace. Here’s how the whole DIY project went down:
Gathering My Supplies
First things first, I needed supplies. I didn’t want to spend a ton of money, so I hit up my local craft store. I grabbed:

- Some thin gold chain – I went with gold because I think it looks more… celestial, I guess?
- Tiny little beads – I found these sparkly ones that looked like little stars.
- Jump rings and a clasp – For, you know, actually making it a necklace.
- Pliers – Needle-nose pliers are a MUST for this.
- Wire cutters – To trim the chain.
- A printout of the Gemini constellation– Find it easily by searching image via google.
Figuring Out the Design
This was probably the trickiest part. I laid out the chain and used the printout as a guide.I played around with the beads, arranging them to match the Gemini constellation. It took some fiddling, but I eventually got it to a point where I was happy with it. I wanted it to be delicate, not too clunky.
Putting It All Together
This is where the pliers came in handy. I started by attaching the beads to the chain using the jump rings. I carefully opened each jump ring with the pliers, looped it through the chain and a bead, and then closed it tight. Super important to make sure they’re closed properly, or the whole thing will fall apart!
I did this for each “star” in the constellation, spacing them out according to my printout. It was a little tedious, I’m not gonna lie, but it was also kind of relaxing. Like a mini-meditation or something.
Adding the Finishing Touches
Once all the beads were attached, I needed to add the clasp. I used another jump ring to attach one part of the clasp to one end of the chain, and then did the same with the other part of the clasp on the other end. Again, making sure those jump rings were securely closed.
The Final Result!
And… that was it! I was actually surprised at how well it turned out. It’s super cute and delicate, and it looks way more expensive than it was to make. I’ve gotten a bunch of compliments on it already, and it’s so fun to say, “Oh, I made it myself!”
Honestly, the whole process was pretty easy, even for someone like me who’s not exactly a crafting expert. If you’re thinking about making one, I say go for it! It’s a fun little project, and you end up with a unique piece of jewelry.
